As the term otaku becomes a popular keyword with the general public, it has come to my attention that the term otaku has been widely misused. Therefore, I feel that it is now time for me to explain, educate and elaborate on this matter so that not every Tom, Dick and Harry will start calling themselves as one. I personally know some who call themselves that… but let’s save that for another story, shall we?

Anime and manga is an amazing culture, but very few fans actually give credit and acknowledgement to the people behind the scenes. Today, I’m going to share with you some trivia about a man who has played an important role in some of the best anime series ever made in recent times.

Renji “Range” Murata is an illustration artist and designer. I am personally a big fan of his works due to the unique consistency in his style. To date, Range has placed his name as the designer for characters and mecha concepts in several anime projects, the most famous ones being Last Exile and Blue Submarine No. 6.

Before I start however, please do forgive me if there are any grammatical errors in my post. After all, I’m just a simpleton who doesn’t really care about my grammar.
